Kenyans Turn William Kabogo's Snap Into Meme, Roasting His Fashion Sense: "Can't Look Away"

William Kabogo, who serves as the Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy, has recently become an internet sensation due to his distinctive style.

However, what began with mockery about his attire has escalated to attacks on his intelligence as an ICT CS.

Kabogo dressing goes vieal

The whole thing began with a picture of the CS that spread widely online — they were wearing a white shirt, brown khaki trousers, a red tie, striped brown and black socks, along with safari boots.

Many were astonished by his style, and considering the gentleman’s excellent command of English and luxurious way of life, perhaps the online community had higher expectations.

The photo led to many questions about whether his old-fashioned style would also apply to how he views the new media and the Internet, questioning his ability to lead the country in a new space of digital growth and AI.

The memes included Kenyans making fun of the CS's ability to understand technology jargon and his understanding of the new terms that refer to different ideas in ICT.

This also included videos of other comedians or ordinary individuals who had the most hilarious reactions to questions on technology, alluding that it would be the same as the former governor.

Other photos of Kabogo were also shared, showing him in what many Gen Zs would consider old man's fashion, which they also used to attack him.

However, Kabogo appears to have treated it casually, stating that he has been relishing the playful exchange, which is indeed quite essential.

In response to one of the snaps, they commented:

I'm finding it enjoyable; however, if nobody creates something similar, you should be quite concerned.

Below are some of the memes and remarks that circulated online:
